Fine Art Digital Capture

Using a professional digital camera and custom software, I'll create a colour correct, tack-sharp and perfectly light balanced high resolution digital copy of your artwork. Basic captures suitable for websites, competition submissions and giclee printing to 16x24 inches are inexpensively priced at $12. Advanced captures for larger reproductions are priced per job.

Uses

Here are some of the ways you'll find digital images useful:

• Edition Prints - A high quality reproduction image is the first step towards making limited edition prints.
• Fine Art Prints - Even less expensive open edition prints need a great capture for the best results.
• Business/Promo Cards - These may be the first someone sees of your art, shouldn't you put the best possible image on it?
• Catalogue Images - Bad catalogue imagery is a leading cause of poor sales.
• Competition Submissions - You'll get a variety of sizes, at least one of which will be just right for your next competition.
• Web Site Previews - Show potential clients the best rendition of your artworks right on your website.

There's lots of other uses, too -- postcards, calendars and so on -- all of which need a high quality image as a starting point.

Cost, 30MB capture

You bring your art to my studio: $12 each for 1 to 4 pieces per session, $10 each for 5 or more per session. Typically, you'll leave your artwork with me and then return a day or more later for pick-up and colour correction. Ask about higher resolution captures.

I come to your location: Charged by the hour plus travel/expenses. Please inquire if this is necessary.

What's Included

• 30MB capture, suitable for web, catalogue and reproduction printing to 18x24 inches.
• Alignment -- flat, squared and perpendicular to eliminate distortion
• Colour correction using pigment colour reference and custom software
• Brightness adjustment to ensure best appearance
• Minor spot removal
• Image delivery in high, medium and low resolution via website (see below)

Not included: extensive Photoshop work or retouching (available at extra cost), CD/DVD delivery of images ($10 per disc).

Image Delivery

For most efficient and flexible delivery, I set up a protected, private gallery right here on photi.ca that only you can access. I'll upload all the images to this gallery. From this private gallery, you'll have access to your images in a variety of sizes no matter where you are (home or travelling). This gallery will be available online for at least a year, longer by arrangement.

Flat visual art only, at these prices, please: This service and pricing is for flat works of art such as paintings, collage, sketches, pastels and so on. Sculpture photography is available but at somewhat higher cost. Contact me for more information.
