Details from the faded murals on Shed #16 in the Vieux Port at Montreal.
"The midmorning sunlight was hard and sharp, and the metal siding produced its own shadows, adding another layer of depth to the already deep texturing of the faded and peeling paint. The many visual realms of these images produces an extended story that begins decades ago with the construction of the shed through the painting of the murals and their subsequent fading and peeling; the sun bleached pigments and flakes of paint; the steel buckled, dented and rusted; the shadows of the corrugations which enhance the three-dimensionality of the print when lit from the right side, and the paper surface and texture itself. Not simply pictures of graffiti, Shed 16, Variations is an exploration of time, light, texture, surfaces (and what lies beneath them), and the inevitability of decay." -- Sean M Puckett
